During the cold war 176 nuclear missile launching silos were located at remote bases throughout Ukraine; all were destroyed except for the one complex located at the Nuclear Missile Museum.
Museum of Strategic Missile Forces is unique opportunity to visit top-secret facilities of the former Soviet Union related to the nuclear weapon. All equipment, surface and underground facilities are fully preserved in the same condition in which they were at a secret facility during the alert.
What will you see? There several missile types including the huge 10-warhead SS-18 ICBM and a range of highly specialized vehicles used for transporting and fueling nuclear armed missiles.
The highlight of the tour is an unforgettable visit to the launch center and living quarters; you will walk through tunnels and bomb proof doors and take the elevator 12-floors down (45 meters) to the command center to see how the base operated and the soldiers lived.
